Artists of FUSION
mactruQue
Mactruque was born in Columbia, Missouri where his artist father allowed him to draw on the walls of their house. He now has a studio in Jacksonville where he is renowned for productivity.
The artist writes: "Many times I have woken up at the foot of my easel with my brushes still in hand. I believe that kind of dedication and discipline is important to achieve recognition. The more an artist works, the more subconscious motivations are revealed. I feel that my prolific exploration of styles lends to the uniqueness of the body of work.” An old world fascination lends to the depth of his signature landscapes that are often executed with a personal but Zen aesthetic. One of his most recent exhibits featured keynote speaker Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Mac’s interest in philosophy allows the viewer to interpret the work from a wide variety of perspectives.
“Finding some connection to current events continues to inspire a balance between social relativity and spiritual escape. I once thought that an artist's life was supposed to be sad and lonely, but art has given me the opportunity to intimately share my journey with so many people. I couldn't ask for a better place in people's lives."

Reet London
“A native of Estonia, Reet has been creating masterful works of art from a very early age, be it murals on her bedroom door in her early preteens or other paintings for herself and her family. Knowing that she wanted a life creating art and that even though she was proud of her heritage, it was much too cold in her hometown of Tallinn. Setting out for warmer climes Reet arrived in Jacksonville, Florida where she enrolled at Florida Community College at Jacksonville and in her first year won an art grant that took care of her time at FCCJ. After attaining her Associates Degree she enrolled at the University of North Florida where, majoring in graphic design, she completed her degree and graduated on the Dean's List. After graduation Reet did some work in her major, designing letterhead and logos, but found the work left her unfulfilled.Remembering the excitement and joy of the painting classes she had taken while getting her degree, Reet decided painting was what she wanted to do.” *
Jim Draper
Draper’s work is a direct extension of his life’s philosophy and values. His motivation is to open windows to another world. “Art takes us through the gamut of emotions, and it’s in these emotions where the genius happens. Art is like a magic act. One takes nothing and makes something out of it. It’s my vehicle for taking people out of the mundane to another place.” Inspired by local flora and fauna Jim records the vanishing florida landscape articulating a dialogue between indigenous and invasive species. "I try my best to catalog natures regenerative qualities, many places in Florida, Cumberland Island for example you can see nature slowing taking back terrain man failed to conquer, plants and animals belonging or not morph in to an unstoppable force that pulsates up and down the peninsula." *
